Renault Sport Formula One Team
Our F1 programme forms the core of Renault Sport Racing, our new entity encompassing all our motorsport activities, from Formula E to Formula Renault 2.0 and including customer racing programmes.
After a year spent at Enstone as the third driver on the Lotus F1® Team, Jolyon Palmer is making his F1 debut with the Renault Sport Formula One Team. His step up to F1 is just the latest promotion for Palmer. He was crowned GP2 Series champion in 2014, becoming the first British driver since Lewis Hamilton in 2006 to claim victory in the series, the perfect training ground for Formula 1.
Nico Hülkenberg joined the Renault Sport Formula One Team with an impressive track record. He made his mark in Formula 1 in 2010, after winning titles in Formula BMW, A1GP and the GP2 Series. Nico also excelled by winning a pole position during his first season in the elite, and won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race with Porsche upon his first attempt in 2015.
Promoted to reserve driver, Sergey Sirotkin
continues his partnership with the Renault Sport Formula One Team in 2017. After a successful transition to test driver in 2016 and a solid season in the GP2 Series, where he was ranked third, the Russian driver has become a full-time member of our Formula 1 team. Sergey will compete in all the Grands Prix of the 2017 season.
